This is a fabulous late 1950s to early 1960s cocktail dress that combines quiet sophistication with simmering seduction! The bodice is styled with a vee neck wrap front that is pleated into the empire waist in front. The high waist is edged with a band of shirring that acts almost like a shelf bust. The front midsection is set off with piecing that curves from the front center down to the sides of the natural waist, giving a hint of a corset effect. The skirt is fitted front and back with vertical darting. The 3/4 length kimono sleeves are gusseted under the arms for ease. The body of the dress is lined.
